‘Farland’. New work by Janet McEwan. Show runs until May 8th 2010

‘Farland’

Janet McEwan at Left Bank, Tarland

The artist will be in the gallery on Thursday 6th and Friday 7th May to talk about her work and opportunities to take part in the project.

‘Farland’ is a body of new work by Janet McEwan, which uses the pre framed and fixed view of existing web cams to consider our shifting and contingent relationship to place.  Downloading images from two North East web cams has provided the artist with a route to further her ongoing interest and inquiry around the filters colouring and informing our notions of ‘homeland’.

The last eighteen months have seen McEwan work in places as diverse and Shetland and India and the show in Tarland, her home town for many years prior to moving to Cornwall 4 years ago, promises to bring together thought provoking ways of looking at ourselves and the places we inhabit.

Preview: Friday 23rd April 6pm – 8pm

The show runs until Saturday 8th May.

The artist will be at the preview to talk about her work.
